Classroom Rules and Procedures

In order to have the safest and most profitable learning environment for the children in our class, I ask that all students follow the classroom rules listed below. It is very important that your child knows that you and I expect them to follow the rules below at all times:
  1. Bring all supplies and homework every day and have them ready.
  2. Complete all assignments in a timely manner.
  3. Stay seated at all times unless told to do otherwise.
  4. Raise your hand and wait to be called on before speaking.
  5. Keep hands, feet and other objects to yourself.
  6. Follow directions the first time given.
  7. Respect all adults and other students at all times.
  8. Use kind and appropriate language at all times.

When students follow the directions above they will receive positive encouragement, reinforcement and rewards. If a student fails to follow the rules they could receive a verbal warning, loss of recess, a phone call or note home, time out in another classroom, and/or an administrative referral. Extreme negative behaviors, such as fighting, will result in an immediate administrative referral.

Grading Policy for Behavior
Each student will begin the day with 5 points. If a student misbehaves they will loose a point. As students demonstrate acts of kindness, compassion, citizenship and generosity they will be able to earn points. All points will be accumulated on Friday and a grade will be determined.
